With the new year comes the new year resolutions. Much like the rest of the world, one of my resolutions for 2016 was to get back in the gym. I feel so much better about everything else in my life when I’m keeping up a somewhat regular workout schedule. Getting back from all those holiday treats takes hard work and dedication. So I figured, if I’m going to be working hard why not do it fabulously?
Before my workouts I will religiously apply at least three products before I head out the door. You might be asking, Why should I put on makeup before I go sweat? Now, I have always said, If you look good, you feel good. Feeling good before a workout is one of the best ways to get the most of it.
I only use a few products and with a fairly light hand, but they really make a difference between my I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-now-I’m-here look and I-came-ready-to-conquer-this-gym-sesh look. The products I reach for on the daily for my Work It Out face routine are as follows.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: I place a good amount of concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes I want to even out. This will help you look awake and with an even tone.
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Bronzer: A bit of bronzer with a kabuki brush around the temples, the cheeks and the chin gives you a lit bit of color so look healthy and alive.
Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush: A sweep of blush on the cheeks gives you a lovely touch of color. Wearing blush before a workout can confuse everyone as you’re walking out. Are you red in the face from dying on the treadmill, or does your blush just last that long?
Benefit They’re Real Mascara: A few coats of mascara plays up the eyes and ties the entire subtle workout makeup together.
Anastasia Brow Wiz (not pictured): Just a few strokes of this to even out my brows. A simple tinted brow gel would great as well.
I usually choose one or the other, bronzer or blush and everyone once in awhile, I will dust a bit of highlighter on the cheekbones. I truly believe that a teeny bit of makeup can go a long way when tackling those fitness goals. Now throw that hair up in a bun and lace up your sneakers, and you’re ready to go!
